My husband Alex and I are proud to call Maple Ridge our home and together we share a cozy townhouse with our two dogs, Nala and Bear.
In addition to my council duties, I teach first aid for first responders, health care professionals, and the general public. I am certified by the Canadian Red Cross Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the Lifesaving Society. I have also worked as a Lifeguard and Aquatic Team Leader (ATL) at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre in Port Coquitlam and have worked locally in the ecotourism industry for a many years. My work with Pinnacle Pursuits as an experimental and outdoor education instructor has helped me develop a strong skillset teaching team-building and leadership training to youth and adults for over 7 years.
I’m currently studying Urban Development and Environmental Science at the University of the Fraser Valley with the goal of working as a city planner in the near future. My post-secondary education has given me the knowledge and expertise needed to review development applications in order to see what changes can be made to ensure we as a city develop in a sustainable manner that promotes inclusive and complete communities.
Volunteering is close to my heart. As a long time resident and volunteer, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with many community leaders and personal mentors who have fueled my passion for local politics. Over the last five years I’ve served as the volunteer coordinator for multiple festivals including Country Fest, GETI Fest and Earth Day. I’ve also spent extensive time volunteering with Ghost Ridge Haunted House and the Golden Ears Gogos in association with the Stephen Lewis Foundation who raise money for Grandmothers in Africa raising children orphaned by AIDS.
I am proud to have been selected as the Council Liaison to the following committees:
- Active Transportation Advisory Committee
- Public Art Steering Committee
- Ridge Meadows Recycling Society
- Performance and Audit Committee (Metro Vancouver Board)
- Audit & Finance Committee (City of Maple Ridge)
I also serve as the Alternate Council Liaison to the following committees:
- Environmental Advisory Committee
- Agricultural Advisory Committee
- Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility Issues

I am very humbled to have been chosen to serve the community as a City Councillor in 2014 and am excited to continue to bring a diverse and fresh way of thinking to City Council as I run for re-election in 2018.
